Lui has been hailed by the Boston Herald as a “folksinger for our times” and by the Boston Globe as “one of New England’s first and brightest stars.” She was voted third most popular performer at the Champlain Valley Festival in 1992, along with Pete Seeger and French Canadian band La Bottine Souriante. Renowned guitarist Dave van Ronk called her “one of the best guitarist-arrangers I have heard in years.” Canadian folk icon Stan Rogers quipped, “Lui sings my songs better than I do,” and Waterbug Records’ Andrew Calhoun claims, “Lui’s got the juju!”
In a parallel musical adventure, Collins founded Upside-Up Music and began teaching family music classes in 2003. She is currently up to her ears adapting her Kids’ Jam curriculum for homeschoolers and other families-at-a-distance, as Upside-Up’s Music at Home.

Violet Walker
For much more than 50 years, Violet Walker has been making music on a bunch of different instruments (and singing), but playing the Musical Saw is her real passion. It makes perfect sense that Violet would find and master a musical instrument that mimics a singing soprano, a mezzo or even a full rich alto sound. For over twenty five years she made a mark for herself as a children’s entertainer primarily as a clown, and has delighted thousands of children, young and old, with her antics. Since clowns tend to do or try to do things that others wouldn’t want to, she decided to make unusual music on a common carpenter’s saw. By applying her magic touch and a cello bow, she creates a very unique sound. She plays vintage tunes, jazz and classical pieces as she creates beautiful smooth, some say unearthly music on her Saw. Often unaccompanied, but sometimes with an ensemble, you will hear joyous, brooding, sultry, stirring and familiar music. She says you’ll like it. Violet has performed across the Northeast and locally at museum and gallery openings, on the streets of Northampton, Greenfield, Shelburne Falls, in churches, hospitals, with orchestras, and a variety of bands.

Piper Pichette
Piper Pichette approaches the harp in a variety of ways, from storytelling and healing, through genres including classical, jazz, and popular music, as well as original pieces. After graduating from Pioneer Valley Performing Arts, she played harp in jazz ensembles as she studied voice at Greenfield Community College. Harpist Rosemary Caine was her first mentor and teacher, inspiring her to continue studies at Berklee College of Music, under Felice Pomeranz and Maeve Gilchrist. She graduated magna cum laude with a BFA in Professional Music. Since 2003, she has performed professionally for weddings, memorials, and special events at galleries and museums, throughout New England. In 2015, her musical “Road to Canterbury” was performed at the Mutton and Mead Medieval Festival, and “Celtic Christmas” in 2017 for Silverthorne Theater. As “The Pied Harpist”, Piper has been heard at such varied venues as City Stage, Wisteriahurst, Chandler’s, the Academy of Music, Waterford Hotel (Lord Jeff), and special events at Jonathan Edward’s First Church in Northampton. She is a member of ASCAP, the Pioneer Valley Harper’s Guild, and has been interviewed by Michael Pollit on WMUA, Jackie Rose on 107.9 WMCB, and most recently on FCAT’s “The Song” by Mary Wheelan. Piper gives private lessons in the harp for multiple levels of learning with harps available for lease to own.
